Jalandhar: Making a contribution in state government’s war against Covid-19, Chairman of Jalandhar Improvement Trust Daljeet Singh Ahluwalia on Friday gave his three months’ salary for the Chief Minister’s Covid-19 Relief Fund. Handing over the formal letter regarding the same to officers of the Jalandhar Improvement Trust, the Chairman said in this grim situation the Chief Minister was leaving no stone unturned in providing a healing touch to people and ensuring their safety. When the state government was making all-out efforts to provide succor to people, it was the moral duty of every resident to contribute generously for the noble cause. Officials of the Trust had also come forward to donate for the cause. OC

27-year-old goes missing

Nakodar: A 27-year-old youth went missing recently. Dalbir Kaur, a resident of Guru Nanak Colony, complained to the police that his son Sukhjit Singh, alias Raja, left the house for a morning walk on April 12, but did not return. Investigating Officer (IO) Mohan Singh said a missing report had been filed in this regard. OC

Two booked for rash driving

Nakodar: The police have booked two persons under Sections 279, 337, 338 and 427 of the IPC on the charge of rash driving and causing hurt by endangering life. Uggi police post in-charge Lovelin Kumar said the duo had been identified as Resham Singh of Barsal village in Jalandhar and Dharam Pal, alias Kalu, of Khan Pur Dhada village. Harbhajan Singh, a resident of Khairra Dona village in Kapurthala, told the police that the duo were travelling in an SUV (PB 08 BM 9956), which was driven rashly and negligently, on Tuesday. The vehicle hit his bike and injured him seriously. OC
