Jalandhar, July 15
In the first auction conducted by the Jalandhar Improvement Trust (JIT) since the appointment of new Chairman Daljit Ahluwalia last week, the civic body today earned Rs 8.75 crore selling 28 properties.
As many as 68 sites worth Rs 25 crore, including residential and commercial properties (booths and SCOs), in Surya Enclave, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Avenue and Bhagat Singh Colony were put on sale.
The JIT, which intends to make collections to pay back liabilities worth Rs 200 crore, was able to sell one third of the properties put on auction.
Ahluwalia and EO JIT Surinder Kumari also presented a bouquet to the first buyer during the auction.
