Job-seekers throng 4th mega job fair

PHAGWARA: The state government organised 4th mega job fair at Lovely Professional University (LPU).

The state government organised 4th mega job fair at Lovely Professional University (LPU). Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kapurthala Davinder Pal Singh; ADC (Development) Avtar Singh Bhullar; ADC Babita Kaler; District Employment Generation and Training Officer Neelam Mehay observed the job providing affairs held in co-ordination with the Training and Placement officers and students of LPU.

During the event, government agencies including— Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY); National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC); Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE, GOI) and Punjab Skill Development Mission were there to provide career opportunities.

Besides, scores of companies including LIC of India’ Reliance Jio, Tech Mahindra Swiggy Food, Zomato, OLA, SBI, Axis,IDBI, ICICI Bank, Bector’s Food, Eureka Forbs, Videocon, Patanjali, and LPU offered job opportunities.

Appreciating the arrangements made by LPU teams, the DC said he felt honoured to address youth at LPU on the very first day of his tenure as DC Kapurthala. He sought help and co-ordination from LPU officials so as to drive the job fair with exquisite spontaneity in its next phases. Jobseekers were also inspired through advising slogans like ‘Mera Hunar, Meri Shaan’; ‘Keep yourself fit and stay away from drugs.”

They were apprised of self-employment and entrepreneurship by various agencies. Jobseekers can avail the benefits of free training. Along with training, youth can get free accommodation and food as well.

Nawanshahr: Under the Punjab government’s flagship programme “ “Ghar Ghar Rozgar”, the district administration organised a ‘ Mega Job Fair’ here at ITI grounds today.

As many as 2,185 job aspirants turned up at the job fair. 28 companies selected 1,172 youth at the fair. Besides, a total of 209 aspirants have been shortlisted for considering them for employment shortly. As many as 190 youth were provided self employment ventures.

Companies including —Hero Cycles, Reliace Jion, Demore Solutions, SBI Life Insurance, Bharti Axa, GI ( Godrej Group), Axis Bank , Rockman, Saint Gobin Glass, Higway Industries, GNA, Friends Auto, Quantum Paper Mill — were roped in for the fair. Students were also motivated to participate in the job fair to tap different employment avenues.

While handing over the appointment letters to the successful candidates, the Deputy Commissioner(DC), Vinay Bublani wished them all the best for their better future after rising to the first step of the ladder of their career.

He exhorted the youth to tap the employment avenues to enter in the job market and with the hard work and experience they would surely achieve their desired goal.

The DC lauded the efforts of the officials concerned for making the Job Fair successful.

A total of 10 registration counters manned with the Guidance Teachers and GoGs were set up and arrangement of refreshment was made for the convenience of the job aspirants.
