Ahead of the forthcoming parkash purb of Guru Ravidas, Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Amit Kumar Panchal reviewed the preparations for the grand shobha yatra to be held in Phagwara on Saturday. The review meeting was held at the SDM Office, Phagwara and was attended by senior civil and police officials.
Detailed discussions were held on key arrangements including lighting, sanitation, traffic regulation, security and other essential civic facilities to ensure the smooth, peaceful and dignified conduct of the religious procession. The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for close inter-departmental coordination and directed officials to complete all preparations well in advance so that devotees face no inconvenience.
Officials assured the DC that all arrangements would be executed efficiently under official supervision, maintaining law and order and ensuring smooth traffic movement during the event.
Later, interacting with the media, AAP constituency in-charge Harnoor Singh Mann said that the life and teachings of Guru Ravidas inspire equality, brotherhood, and humanity. He remarked that shobha yatra and nagar kirtan are not merely religious events but also symbols of social unity and communal harmony. Expressing gratitude to the district administration, he said the government is fully committed to ensuring the safety, convenience, and comfort of devotees, and affirmed that the shobha yatra would be conducted in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere.
