Jalandhar, September 18

Members of the transgender community in the city sparkled at a fashion show held on the sidelines of an awareness programme held by KMV College here.

The event, ‘Gender Equity and Inclusion: Transformative Pathways in Higher Education’, saw a fashion show which celebrated women from various groups, communities and ethnicities. The event comprised segments for various other groups, including specially abled persons. It also showcased a segment in which members of the LGBT community walked the ramp for the first time in the city, at a mainstream event.

The ramp walk by a mainstream institution showcased the talents of the LGBT community on special invitation.

Honey, Chand, Gauri and Nancy, members of the community, dressed in beautiful traditional attire walked the ramp along with other participants and got a rousing applause.
