LPU hosts cultural exchange prog
Lovely Professional University (LPU) hosted ‘Jugni’, a vibrant cultural exchange programme in collaboration with the Cultural and Youth Welfare Club and the Tourism & Cultural Affairs, Department of Punjab, and Turkistan, Kazakhstan. The event was a beautiful fusion of music, dance and art from both cultures, and showcased the rich heritage of both regions.
The cultural groups from Kazakhstan delivered spectacular performances, including the vocal instrumental ensemble “tarlan” from the renowned Raiymbek Seitmetov music and drama theatre and the Bisultan Dance Ensemble, famous for their dynamic and colorful dance routines. The performances were a vibrant kaleidoscope of rhythms and movements, with their intricate choreography and melodious songs. Hindi songs were also performed by Kazakhstan’s artists, adding a unique fusion to the event.
LPU Pro-Chancellor Rashmi Mittal stated, “The LPU envisions creating opportunities for cultural exchange. It’s not just about education, it’s about providing transformative experiences that promote cultural understanding and prepare our students to be global citizens.”
The event was attended by Sunil Phogat, IAS, Assistant Commissioner of Jalandhar, and Davinder Singh, Under Secretary of Punjab.
