AAP leader Lucky Oberoi was shot dead by armed assailants near a gurdwara in Jalandhar's Model Town on Friday morning.

Before 8:00 am (Approx.)
Lucky Oberoi, 38, Aam Aadmi Party leader from Jalandhar, arrives at a gurdwara in Model Town in his Mahindra Thar Roxx to pay obeisance.
Police sources later indicate that the assailants may have conducted prior reconnaissance of his movements.
Around 8:00–8:05 am
After offering prayers, Oberoi returns to his vehicle and prepares to leave the gurdwara premises.
Around 8:05 am
Two unidentified assailants arrive on a two-wheeler.
One attacker, wearing a black hoodie and a face mask, approaches Oberoi’s vehicle.
The attacker opens fire at close range, discharging 8–10 bullets.
Window panes of Oberoi’s vehicle and a nearby parked vehicle are shattered.
Immediately after the firing
The assailants flee the scene on the two-wheeler.
Panic grips the area as bystanders rush to help.
Around 8:10 am
Oberoi is rushed to a private hospital in Jalandhar in an unconscious state.
Doctors report his blood pressure is unrecordable and that one bullet has pierced his chest.
Despite medical efforts, Lucky Oberoi succumbs to his injuries.

Jalandhar police reach the spot and cordon off the area.
CCTV footage from the gurdwara and nearby locations is seized and scanned.
Multiple police teams are formed to trace the assailants and establish motive.

Opposition leaders from Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal, and BJP strongly criticise the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government, alleging a complete breakdown of law and order in Punjab.
