The police have registered a case under Sections 279, 304-A, 324 and 34 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Lambar, Happy, Doctor and Pinda, all residents of village Dayalpur under Subhanpur police station, on the charges of causing death due to negligent act, voluntarily causing hurt with a weapon and acting with common intention.

According to the complaint, Pooja Rani stated that, she received a phone call informing that her husband Ravi Kumar had met with an accident near village Dayalpur. After receiving the information, she contacted her brother who reached the spot and shifted Ravi Kumar to the Civil Hospital in Kartarpur for treatment. From there, the doctors referred him to Civil Hospital Jalandhar due to the seriousness of his condition.

While undergoing treatment at the hospital, Ravi Kumar reportedly told his wife that he had not met with an accident. Instead, he alleged that four persons had forcibly taken him near the Dayalpur railway crossing where they threatened him and brutally assaulted him with sticks and rods.
