Phagwara: The police have registered a case against a Sonepat resident Sahil Kumar on the charge of abducting the wife of Naginder Sharma of Sukhchain Nagar, Phagwara, after developing illicit relations with her. The complainant Naginder told the police that he was married six years ago. He said he suspected that his wife had relations with the accused and had been missing since July 6. OC

Phagwara: On a complaint lodged by Vinod Tigga of village Chack Hakim near Phagwara, the police have registered a case under Section 8,12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against two youths, Amit Kumar of village Chack Hakim and Deepak Kumar of Khangurra (Phagwara) on the charges of sexually assaulting his 13-year-old son and preparing his video to blackmail. Youth held for kidnapping girl
Hoshiarpur: The Mehatpur police have arrested a youth on the charge of kidnapping a girl. The accused had been identified as Sahil, alias Jatinder, a resident of Dakoha village.A case under Sections 363 (kidnapping) and 366 (kidnapping a woman to compel her marriage) of the IPC was registered against the accused. Decomposed body found
Phagwara: A decomposed body of an unidentified youth was found near a crematorium on village near Goraya on Sunday afternoon. A passerby saw the body in a bad condition. The police have registered a case and kept the body in the mortuary of the Civil Hospital, Phillaur, for 72 hours for identification. OC

Phagwara: The police have booked eight Kapurthala villagers on the charge of assaulting a villager. Navdeep Singh of Doda Wajir said the accused waylaid him on August 3 in front of a nursing college, Malsian, and attacked him with weapons and seriously injured him. OC
