The police arrested a man near village Dhakk Pandori after recovering 12 rolls of banned Chinese kite string from his possession during routine patrolling, SP Madhvi Sharma said.

A patrolling team was conducting checks in the area when they noticed a man carrying a suspicious bag. On seeing the police, he allegedly tried to flee through a narrow passage, but was chased and apprehended.

During questioning, the accused identified himself as Rampal, resident of Dhakk Pandori, Phagwara. Upon checking his bag, the police recovered 12 rolls of Chinese dor, which is prohibited due to its dangerous nature as it often causes serious injuries and accidents.

The police registered a case against the accused for possessing and transporting banned material. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the material and whether it was being supplied locally.
