Man held with 500 gm of heroin

JALANDHAR: The district rural police today seized 500 gram of heroin and intoxicants worth Rs 2 crore.

The district rural police today seized 500 gram of heroin and intoxicants worth Rs 2 crore.

The suspect who was arrested with the heroin was identified as Mohammad Irfan, a resident of Vikas Nagar, New Delhi. He was arrested at a police check post near the Phillaur overbridge.

SP Balkar Singh said during the checking, it was found that the suspect had concealed the drugs in a women’s sandals that he had kept in his kit.

During the investigation, Irfan also revealed that he had brought the drugs for supplying to Jalandhar and Kapurthala-based customers. He got into the drug trafficking business after coming in contact with a Nigerian girl through Facebook. She had promised him to pay Rs 35,000 after supplying the drugs.

In another incident, two more local peddlers, Sandeep Kumar and Jagadish, were also held with intoxicants and injections on GT Road. They were coming from Ludhiana. All accused had been booked under the NDPS Act. — TNS
