Man robbed of cash, cell phone

Phillaur: Two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched cash, a mobile phone and two Italian rings  from a marriage palace manager on Saturday night. Vikas Khurana of Bilga village complained to the police that he was returning home when two bike-borne persons waylaid him on the Nurmahal-Bilga road and attacked him with sharp weapons. They snatched Rs 26,100, two Italian rings and a cell phone from him. OC

Two smugglers held with drugs

Ludhiana: The police have nabbed two women smugglers and seized 6 gm of heroin and 1.6 kg of poppy husk from them. Both are residents of Talwandi Kalan. They were arrested in Fatehpur Gujjran village following a tip-off. A case has been registered. TNS
