Marriages of seven couples solemnised in Phagwara

The Sarb Naujawan Sabha, Phagwara, led by a UK- based NRI, Sukhwinder Singh Mahey, organised the marriages of seven couples and presented them gifts, comprising the articles of daily use, at a colourful function held here yesterday.

Surinder Singh Mahey was the chief guest on the occasion. Union Minister of State Vijay Sampla; Yurinder Singh Hayer, Director, Punjab Police Academy, Phillaur; and ASP Phagwara Sandeep Malik graced the occasion as honorary guests.

They lauded the efforts of the ‘Sabha’ and called upon the NGOs to come forward to serve the poor and underprivileged segments of society.

Members of the ‘Sabha’ announced to bear the expenditure of 30 poor students. PPCC leader Balbir Rani Sodhi and Arun Khosla, Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Phagwara, blessed the newly-wed couples.
