Lohri was observed for 5,100 daughters simultaneously at a farmhouse in Goraya village. The event, organised by the owner of Johal Farms, an NRI, was graced by Gurpreet Kaur Mann, wife of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann as the chief guest.

Mann emphasised the importance of gender equality and the need to honour daughters. The celebrations highlighted the significance of empowering women and ensuring their inclusion in all festivities. Cultural programmes, including traditional folk performances, were presented during the celebrations.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
