MC clerical staff seek release of salary

JALANDHAR: Clerical staff of the Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar, on Thursday held a strike against the non-release of salaries by the state government.

Clerical staff of the Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar, on Thursday held a strike against the non-release of salaries by the state government.

The strike caused commotion in the civic office Staff Union president Rajan said the staff members did not get salaries on time due to which they take loans.

He said the employees who were suspended due to the ongoing inquiry by Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu should be allowed to resume work till the time the investigation was completed.

The Mayor assured them to take up the matter with Sidhu.
