Migrant’s daughter bites man trying to rape her, accused arrested

A courageous act of resistance by a minor girl in Bhogpur has won praise and admiration from the local residents. The incident, which occurred recently, involved an attempt by a man to rape the 10-year-old daughter of a migrant labourer while her father was away at work.

The accused, identified as Raju, a 30-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh, never expected the fierce resistance he would face from the young girl, who bravely fought back and raised an alarm.

Raju, who was a friend of the girl's father, had visited their house when the family's father and mother had left for work. At that time, only the four children were at home. According to the information provided, Raju initially gave money to the other three children, instructing them to go out and buy something to eat. This left the 10-year-old girl alone with him in the house.

It was during this time that Raju attempted to rape the young girl. However, he was taken by surprise when the girl not only resisted his advances but fought him off bravely. In an act of defiance, she bit him hard, forcing him to back off. After successfully freeing herself from his grip, the girl ran out of the house, crying for help and alerting the villagers.

The cries of the girl were heard by the local residents, who rushed to the scene and managed to catch hold of the assailant. The villagers, united by their concern, apprehended Raju before handing him over to the Bhogpur police. Authorities quickly arrived at the scene and took the accused into custody.

The police, led by ASI Talwinder Singh, confirmed that the 10-year-old girl was safe and reunited with her parents. A case has been registered against Raju under Section 74 of the BNS Act and Section 6 of the POSCO Act. The investigation into the matter is ongoing, with the authorities ensuring that justice is served.

Local residents have lauded the girl's remarkable courage, hailing her for her presence of mind and determination in bringing a dangerous criminal to justice. Her swift action in such a traumatic situation has not only saved herself but also ensured that the perpetrator faced the consequences of his actions.”
