GARHSHANKAR (HOSHIARPUR): The Guru Ravidas memorial Minar-e-Begmpura will be completed within a year by the Punjab Government.

The Guru Ravidas memorial Minar-e-Begmpura will be completed within a year by the Punjab Government. Cabinet Minister Sunder Sham Arora said this during the state-level interaction at Khuralgarh Sahib to celebrate the birth anniversary of Guru Ravidass.

While congratulating the people of the state, he said that there was a need to adopt the ideals of Guru Ravidass. He accorded philosophy and the message of communal harmony, the message of peace, compassion and brotherhood. Arora said: “The state government, led by Capt Amarinder Singh is committed to get this memorabilia completed in a timely manner.”

Industry and Commerce Minister Sunder Sham Arora said: “In order to overcome the problem of water for irrigation in the area, 25 tube wells are being set up by the state government. The government has provided subsidy of Rs 70 lakh for the protection of crops from wild animals in the area. Now the government is providing more Rs 20 lakh. Crores of rupees are being spent by the state government to develop Garhshankar.” “Loans of Rs 46 crore of farmers of the area have been waived off, while the loans of landless labourers in the state will be waived off soon,” he added.

Besides, another cheque for Rs 1.5 lakh under the Smart Village scheme. Also a cheque for Rs 1.5 lakh was also handed over to the Panchayat of village Bassi Basti under Smart Village Scheme.

During the meeting, MLA Chabbewal and Chairman SC Department of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, Dr Raj Kumar congratulated Guru Ravidas’s followers while appealing them to follow the path shown by him.

Former MLA Luv Kumar Goldi apprised the Cabinet Minister of the problems of Garhshankar, especially in the Kandi Bet area.
