Minister takes stock of situation in flood-hit areas

PHILLAUR: Punjab Minister of Disaster Management and Water Resources Sukhbinder Simgh Sarkaria today visited the flood-hit areas of Phillaur to take stock of the situation.

Punjab Minister of Disaster Management and Water Resources Sukhbinder Simgh Sarkaria today visited the flood-hit areas of Phillaur to take stock of the situation.

Accompanied by General Secretary, Punjab Congress, Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary, he instructed the officials concerned for accelerate the rescue operations to rehabilitate the flood-affected people.

Speaking to the mediapersons at Meowal village, the minister said breaches at all points to be plugged at the earliest.

Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary apprised Sarkaria of how with the help of NDRF SDRF and district administration, people were evacuated from the flood-hit areas. The minister would again visited the area on Thursday said Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary.

“The Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, will take an aerial view of the flood-ravaged area to assess the loss of propertites and ongoing relief operation,” said Sarkaria.

Sukhwinder Singh Lally DCC president, Rajesh Sharma SDM, Davinder Singh Attri DSP, Tapan Bhanot Tehsildar, Davinder Lasara, Rakesh Duggal BCC President’s, Narinder Goyal president Nagar Council Phillaur were present.
