JALANDHAR: The early morning suicide of a teacher in Moga has teachers gunning for the Education Department.

The early morning suicide of a teacher in Moga has teachers gunning for the Education Department. As Manuke-based Jagmohan Singh, a teacher in the Government Elementary School, Diarewala, committed suicide early this morning, the social media went viral with teachers piling the blame on the Education Department.

Government school teachers Jaswinder Singh Sidhu and Nishant Kumar posted on Facebook – “Akhir kinne hor mavan de putt maregi sarkar. Eh sathi Jagmohan Singh is nu sarkar ne ETT karva ke EGS Adhyapak 4,500 te bharti kita si jo Moge zile de school Didare wale parhaunda si Punjb sarkar diyan nitiyan ton tang ake khudkhushi kar geya” (After all, how many sons of mothers shall the state government kill, a very sad incident took place today. Friend Jagmohan Singh who after clearing ETT had joined as EGS teacher on Rs 4,500 teaching at the Didarewale school at Moga –got fed up of the government’s policies and committed suicide today).

Jagpreet Singh Kalia wrote, “It was very sad that an Education Department teacher had committed suicide after being harassed by the policies of government.” —TNS
