The existing emergency ward would be expanded to accommodate 10 additional beds and the MP has sanctioned the procurement of advanced medical equipment, such as portable X-ray and laparoscopy machines, to improve diagnostic and surgical capabilities. Arora directed officials to prepare a detailed project report for these upgrades, ensuring funding from the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) is secured without delay.

In his address, Arora emphasised the importance of accessible healthcare, urging officials to increase enrolment under the Ayushman Bharat Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna.  He said it would allow eligible beneficiaries to access free healthcare services. The MP also took time to review the ongoing construction of a 100-bedded critical care unit at the hospital, stressing the need for its timely completion. During his visit to the emergency ward, he instructed officials to develop a plan for its expansion.

Arora reaffirmed healthcare is a top priority for the state government, which has already implemented transformative measures in the sector. He said adequate funding would be provided for these projects and underscored the importance of efficient resource use to benefit patients. Once completed, these initiatives are expected to significantly enhance the quality of care at the Jalandhar Civil Hospital.
