Jalandhar: MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary paid obeisance at Dera Sachkhand Ballan on the auspicious occasion of Maghi on Thursday. He said he prayed for the wellbeing and success of farmers protesting against the agriculture laws passed by Centre. Congratulating people on Maghi, he said this day holds a special historical and religious significance in Sikhism. “This auspicious festival is a commemoration of the sacrifice of 40 Sikhs, who laid down their lives fighting for justice and righteousness with Guru Gobind Singh,” he said. Appreciating the role of Dera Sachkhand Ballan, the MP said it was a historic dera, which had been working to strengthen the spiritual and social fabric under Sant Niranjan Dass. TNS
