Jalandhar MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary and Phillaur Assembly constituency in-charge Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary on Tuesday distributed cheques worth Rs 97.75 lakh to 688 landless farmers and agricultural labourers under the Punjab Government’s debt waiver scheme. The functions were organised at Rurka Kalan and Dhesian Kahna villages.
As many as 239 persons belonging to Dhesian Kahna, 240 from Pasla, 103 from Bundala and 106 residents of Rurka Kalan, who received the cheques worth Rs 31.39 lakh, Rs 41.3 lakh, Rs 12.21 lakh and Rs 12.85 lakh, respectively. — TNS
