Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district will host a National Lok Adalat on March 14, 2026, informed District and Sessions Judge Priya Sood. She stated that the National Lok Adalat is being organised in accordance with the directions of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the instructions received from the member secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar. The objective of the Lok Adalat is to ensure amicable settlement of pending cases through mutual consent at both court and pre-litigation stages.

Priya Sood said that a wide range of cases will be taken up during the National Lok Adalat, including pension and service-related matters, land acquisition cases, revenue disputes, BSNL cases, insurance-related disputes, finance and bank loan cases, water bill disputes, criminal compoundable cases, cheque bounce cases, motor accident claim cases, tribunal matters, matrimonial disputes, traffic challans, labour disputes, electricity-related cases and other compromise-worthy matters. She emphasized that the Lok Adalat provides an effective platform for speedy, cost-free and amicable resolution of disputes.

She further informed that litigants facing any difficulty in getting their cases listed for the National Lok Adalat may contact the Office of the District Legal Services Authority.
