NHS Hospital has inaugurated its new OPD Centre at Nakodar Chowk, Sultanpur Road, Kapurthala, providing local access to specialised medical consultations. The centre officially opened on January 14, 2026.
To mark the inauguration, the centre is offering free consultations to all patients during its inaugural week, from January 14 to January 17. The facility will operate from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm, Monday to Saturday, with super-specialists available on different days to provide care in neurology, orthopaedics, and neurosurgery.
Dr Sandeep Goel, DM Neurology, said that the centre is intended to make neurological care accessible in the region. He added that it will provide treatment for complex brain and spine disorders without requiring patients to travel to major cities.
Dr Shubhang Aggarwal, MCh Orthopaedics, said the centre will provide surgical expertise and diagnostic services for orthopaedic conditions, helping patients restore mobility and maintain quality of life.
Dr Naveen Chitkara, MCh Neuro Surgery, said the OPD centre will ensure that patients receive timely neurosurgical opinions and follow-up care locally, reducing the need for long-distance travel.
The NHS Kapurthala OPD Centre brings together experienced specialists under one roof and aims to bridge the gap in super-specialty healthcare for residents of Kapurthala and surrounding areas.
