The Jalandhar police on Thursday arrested a medical shop owner for allegedly keeping intoxicant tablets without any record.
The ACP (West), Sarabjit Rai, said following the arrest of two persons, Navratan Kalia and Tarun Kalia, the Basti Bawa Khel police had lodged an FIR recently.
The police also seized over 2,700 intoxicant tablets and 650 capsules from their possession.
Upon further investigation, it was found that the duo used to buy these drugs from a medical shop situated in the Dilkhushan Market.
The police laid the trap and raided the shop. It seized over 3,850 intoxicant tablets without any record.
The shop owner, Prem Nath, was also sitting at the shop during the raid. The police have lodged an FIR in the case.
