Ashok Kumar has been elected as the sarpanch of Jalal Chakk village, unanimously. Jaswant Singh, Paraminder Jit Singh, Satpal Singh, Surjit Singh and Parminder Kaur were elected unanimously for the five posts of the ‘panchs’ of the gram panchayat.

Jhilmil, a former chairman of block smiti, said all members of the gram panchayat have been elected unanimously for the first time in the village. Capt Jagat Ram, Chaudhary Jagat Ram, Veer Singh, Maninder Singh and Kashmir Singh, among others, facilitated the unanimous formation of Gram Panchayat.
