A panchayat member and three members of his family were injured after a group of assailants allegedly attacked their home in the village under the Sohana police station jurisdiction late on Friday night.

The incident occurred when the panchayat member, returning from official work, confronted a group of individuals who were reportedly abusing and threatening him on the street. According to the victim, the confrontation escalated after he asked them to stop, following which the accused allegedly barged into his house armed with sticks and iron rods.

The injured were admitted to the Civil Hospital for treatment. Doctors stated that one of the victims sustained a head injury, while others suffered multiple wounds. Police have registered a case in the matter.
