Passing out parade: 458 recruits inducted into BSF

A passing out parade and an oath-taking ceremony for Batch Nos. 277 and 278 was held on Saturday at the Subsidiary Training Centre, Border Security Force (BSF), Kharkan Camp, Shaheed Satpal Chaudhary Parade Ground, Hoshiarpur. A total of 458 recruits successfully passed out and joined the BSF to serve the nation.

Satish Shriramji Khandare, Special Director General, BSF (Western Command), attended the ceremony as the chief guest. He was welcomed by Charu Dhwaj Agrawal, Inspector General, Subsidiary Training Centre, Kharkan. The event was also attended by the staff of the training centre, their families, trainees, retired BSF officers and family members of the recruits.

The parade accorded a general salute to the chief guest, who later inspected the contingent. The parade was commanded by recruit Ashish Chauhan from Rajasthan. Recruits, who excelled in indoor and outdoor activities, were awarded medals by the chief guest for their outstanding performance.

Addressing the recruits, the chief guest appreciated their display of confidence, skill and coordination during the parade, which he described as the hallmark of such ceremonies. He commended them for choosing the BSF as a career option and encouraged them to serve the nation with courage and enthusiasm, always be ready to respond to the call of duty.

He also lauded the efforts of Inspector General Charu Dhwaj Agrawal, Commandant (Training) Birender Kumar and the entire training team for shaping the recruits into physically and mentally strong and capable guardians.

The chief guest extended his best wishes to the newly inducted BSF personnel for a bright future and urged them to uphold the values of service and integrity throughout their careers.
