Jalandhar, December 12
Punjab Pensioners’ Association, Jalandhar, held a meeting under the patronage of Piara Singh, in which pensioners decided to hold ‘Pensioner Divas’ on December 15, at Guru Nanak Dev Library, here.
They said Jagdish Raja, Mayor, Jalandhar, would graced the occasion as the chief guest. A total of 32 pensioners would be honoured by the chief guest and his wife Anita Raja.
Mahinder Singh Parvana, president, Unjaba State Pensioners’ Federation will highlight problems and issues of the pensioners during the event.
Amarjit Singh, administrator, Punjab National Bank, Ludhiana, will also present on the occasion. Sarabjot Singh, press secretary, Punjab Pensioner Association, said bad treatment meted out to pensioners by the state government was criticised during the meeting.
Avtar Singh Kanungo, Harbans Lal Mago, Kashmiri Lal Chann, among others, were present.
