Phagwara: The Shahkot police have arrested a travel agent for duping a woman of Rs.19.80 lakh on the pretext of sending her son abroad. SHO GS Nagra said Rajwindar Kaur, a resident of Talwandi Madho village, complained to Jalandhar (rural) SSP that she paid Rs 19.80 lakh to the accused, Gurchetan Singh, a resident of Mohalla Baghwala, Shahkot, for facilitating her son’s migration to Canada, but he was given a fake visa. oc

One arrested for kidnapping minor

Nakodar:A local resident has been held on the charge of kidnapping. Investigating Officer Rajindar Kumar said the suspect, Vijay Kumar, was arrested after one Mandeep Kaur, a resident of Mohalla Guru Nanak Pura, complained to the police that the accused kidnapped her minor daughter.
