Police arrest man with country-made pistol, drug money and narcotic pills

The operation was carried out on the directions of Harvinder Singh Virk, PPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar Rural, and under the supervision of Sarabjit Rai, PPS, Superintendent of Police (Investigation), Jalandhar Rural.
The arrest was made under the leadership of Sukhpal Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub-Division Shahkot, and Inspector Balwinder Singh Bhullar, Station House Officer, Police Station Shahkot. According to DSP Sukhpal Singh, the police was conducting patrol duty with a police party near village Talwandi Sanghera when they apprehended Manish Kumar alias Lovely, resident of Dhandowal and currently residing in Patti Akalpur Malsia in Shahkot.
During the search, the police recovered one country-made pistol of .315 bore along with one live round, Rs 25,000 suspected drug money in Indian currency, and 10 narcotic pills. Following the recovery, an FIR was registered under Sections 22, 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act and Section 25 of the Arms Act at Police Station Shahkot.
The accused has been arrested and will be produced before the court, where police will seek remand for further interrogation to uncover possible links to illegal arms and narcotics networks.
