The Punjab Police Club emerged as champions at the third State-Level Football Tournament organised by Apna NRI Football Club at Chakk Guru-Samundra village, lifting the Under-17 title, while FA Posi and Apna NRI FC Langroya shared honours in the Under-14 category.

The finals were held on Tuesday at the village sports ground. In the Under-14 final, the match between FA Langroya and Apna NRI FA Chakk Guru-Samundra ended in a draw, leading both teams to be declared joint winners. In the Under-17 final, Shaheed Bhagat Singh FA Posi defeated Apna NRI FA Chakk Guru-Samundra 2–0.

In the club category final, Punjab Police edged past GHG College, Sidhwan Khurd, 2–1 to clinch the championship trophy.

SSP Jalandhar Surinder Kumar and Arjuna Awardee and Tata Sports Officer Bachan Singh Mander, the chief guests, encouraged players to stay away from drugs and uphold the spirit of sportsmanship.

A friendly match between Shaheed Bhagat Singh FA Posi and Punjab Eleven Girls also took place, with the Posi Girls winning 2–0.

Prominent attendees included Mohan Singh Mally, Gurdev Singh Rakkar (committee manager), Karnail Singh Kelly (president), Amrik Singh Rai (vice-president), Sucha Singh Rakkar, Avtar Singh Tari and Ajit Singh.
