Punjab Police equestrian team win gold, bronze medals

The Punjab Police equestrian team continue to give an impressive performance at the 44th All-India Police Equestrian Championship and Mounted Police Duty Meet held at the BSF Academy, Tekanpur, clinching multiple medals and bringing laurels to the force.

Led by team manager Inderbir Singh, the team secured a bronze medal in the Medley Relay Team Event. The medal-winning squad comprised Jaswinder Singh, DSP, riding ‘Sudha’, Head Constable Prabhjot Singh, riding ‘Big Star’, and senior constable Simranjit Singh, riding ‘Shershah’. The team displayed exceptional coordination, control and competitive spirit in the prestigious national-level championship.

Adding to the force’s achievements, Head Constable Sandeep Singh recently won a gold medal in the Mental Hazard Competition. He was also honoured with the coveted Lala BK Dey Trophy for his outstanding skill, composure and exemplary performance, earning significant recognition for the team.

In the individual categories, Constable Amninder Singh also secured a bronze medal in the Farrier Competition, while Class IV employee Vishu also earned a bronze medal in the Syce Competition, further strengthening the team’s overall medal tally.

The team also showcased remarkable horsemanship in the Dressage (Medium) Team event, where they clinched another bronze medal, underscoring their discipline, precision, and teamwork.

The commendable performance of the Punjab Police Equestrian Team at the championship reflects the force’s dedication to excellence, rigorous training standards, and commitment to upholding its sporting legacy at the national level.
