The Punjab Police Equestrian Team delivered a commendable performance at the ongoing 44th All-India Police Equestrian Championship and Mounted Police Duty Meet being held at the BSF Academy, Tekanpur, clinching multiple medals across various events.
The championship is scheduled to conclude on February 27.
Adding to the force’s achievements, Head Constable Sandeep Singh secured a gold medal in the Mental Hazard Competition and was also awarded the prestigious Lala BK Dey Trophy. His outstanding display of skill and composure brought significant recognition to the team.
In the individual events, Constable Amninder Singh earned a Bronze Medal in the Farrier Competition, while Class IV employee Vishu claimed a Bronze Medal in the Syce Competition, further contributing to the medal tally.
The team also excelled in the Dressage (Medium) Team Event, securing a Bronze Medal through a commendable display of coordination and horsemanship. The team was led by team manager Inderbir Singh and comprised Inspector Youngbir Singh riding 'Victor', Assistant Sub-Inspector Jarmanjeet Singh on 'King', Head Constable Sandeep Singh on 'Akash', and senior constable Vishal Kumar on 'Virat'.
The championship has drawn participation from police equestrian teams across the country, showcasing high standards of discipline, training and competitive spirit. The achievements of the Punjab Police Equestrian Team reflect their rigorous preparation and dedication to excellence in equestrian sports.
Senior officials congratulated the team members for their commendable performance, praising their efforts in bringing pride to the Punjab Police at the national level.
