Railways recovers 1.67 lakh from 243 ticketless passengers in Jalandhar

With the aim of curbing ticketless travel, a special ticket checking campaign 'Fortress Check' was conducted at Jalandhar City Railway Station on Saturday by Ferozepur Division of Northern Railway.

A total of 243 ticketless passengers were caught during this intensive check operation from which a revenue of around ₹1.67 lakh was recovered. This campaign was conducted continuously from 9 am to 5 pm and 14 ticket inspectors and RPF jawans jointly participated in the campaign.

Under the "Fortress Check", unannounced intensive ticket checks are carried out on the station premises. During this, tickets of passengers are checked and action is taken against those who travel without tickets. The main objective of this campaign is to ensure the security of railway revenue and promote the habit of travelling with tickets among passengers.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Paramdeep Singh Saini has appealed to passengers to always travel only with a valid ticket. Keeping in mind the convenience of passengers and the protection of revenue, such special ticket checking campaigns will continue in the future as well.
