Residents of Ward No. 13 today continued their protest at Fatehgarh Chowk here under the leadership of councillor Meenu Sethi, demanding to restart the work of Rambha Sethi Marg in the ward today.

They raised slogans against the Municipal Corporation (MC) and the state government during the protest. The councillor said MC officials, who had reached the spot during the protest yesterday, assured that the work would start today but it failed to start today due to which they are forced to continue the protest.

She said now the dharna would be lifted only after the commencement of the work.

They continued the protest till the evening, blocking the road but none of the officials reached the spot. Later, in the evening the DSP (City) reached the protest venue and tried to persuade them to stop the protest but they were adamant.

Sethi said later, the MC Commissioner told the DSP over phone that the work could not be started due to a cloudy weather today and it would begin as soon as the weather becomes clear.

District BJP vice-president and councillor Suresh Bhatia Bittu, general secretary and councillor Nipun Sharma, BJP activists and residents were among those others present.
