Routes diverted for Shobha Yatra in Phagwara

PHAGWARA: The police have diverted the entire routes of the National Highways passing through Phagwara for February 18 due to the scheduled ‘Shobha Yatra’ being conducted in connection with the birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Ravi Dass.

The police have diverted the entire routes of the National Highways passing through Phagwara for February 18 due to the scheduled ‘Shobha Yatra’ being conducted in connection with the birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Ravi Dass.

Mandeep Singh, Superintendent of Police, Phagwara, while giving details of the diverted routes told here on Saturday that all Jalandhar to Ludhiana side bound light traffic of cars wopuld ply through Mehtan Chowk, Mehli, Banga Road, Basra Palace, Khottrra, Onkar Nagar, Chachoki, Goraya and onwards on the Highways on Monday after 12 noon. He said light traffic on Hoshiarpur, Phagwara and Ludhiana route would be diverted from Bhularai Chowk, Mehli, Banga, Nawanshahr, Rahon, Phillaur and Ludhiana.

The SP said light traffic from Ludhiana to Jalandhar would be diverted from Chachoki, Kherra,Gobindpura, Kot Rani,Dhyan Singh Colony, Hadiabad and Zandiala Manzki.

Mandeep Singh said all buses would be diverted as Jalandhar, Khajurala, Mehtan Chowk, Mehli, Banga, Nawanshahr, Rahon,Phillaur and Ludhiana onwards and Hoshiarpur, Bhularai Chowk, Mehli, Banga, Nawanshahr, Rahon, Phillaur and Ludhiana onwards.

Similarly buses would be diverted from Ludhiana, Phillaur, Noormahal, Zandiala and Jalandhar onwards.

He said heavy vehicles would be diverted on Jalandhar,Hoshiarpur, Mahilpur, Garhshankar, Nawanshahr, Rahon,Phillaur and Ludhiana onwards.

Similarly trucks and tippers would ply from Ludhiana, Mullanpur, Dakha, Mehatpur, Nakodar and Jalandhar onwards.

The SP said Indo-Pak bus service would ply on normal routes even on Monday. Indo-Pak buses plied normally on Friday and Saturday.
