On the occasion of 100 years of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, a grand "Prominent Citizens' Seminar" was organised at the auditorium of DAV College of Education, bringing together around 300 distinguished individuals from education, social service, industry and intellectual fields. The event aimed at fostering meaningful dialogue for nation-building and social transformation.
Chief guest Dr Anoop Kumar emphasised that education is a vital tool for character building and nurturing nationalism, while district sanghchalak Ashok Chopra was also present.
The main speaker, Indresh Kumar, highlighted the Sangh's 100-year journey, current social challenges and the role of society in shaping India's future. He stressed the concept of "Panch Parivartan" as a practical path for lasting social change, focusing on social harmony, family values, environmental protection, self-reliance and civic duties.
Paying tribute to icons like Bhagat Singh, he called upon youth to adopt a "nation first" approach and contribute actively to nation-building. He also raised concerns over social evils like untouchability and drug abuse, urging collective efforts for a harmonious and drug-free society. The seminar concluded with an interactive session and a vote of thanks by Ashok Chopra.
