Having cancelled their protest last month against the state government for not having doled out SC Post-Matric Scholarship amount pending for years, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has rescheduled it now for November 14.
The party will be holding a state-level protest on the issue in front of the District Administrative Complex here wherein SAD chief Sukhbir Badal will address the gathering. A meeting regarding the same was held at a gurdwara here today. SAD MLA Pawan Tinu had been leading the issue having held protests in Chandigarh too.
The programme had been cancelled last month owing to the train tragedy in Amritsar when the entire leadership of SAD remained busy mounting pressure against former CPS Navjot Kaur Sidhu for lapses that led to the incident.
