SULTANPUR LODHI: A sea of devotees thronged to watch the historic light and sound show, showcasing the life and philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev in Sultanpur Lodhi today.

Sultanpur Lodhi, November 12

A sea of devotees thronged to watch the historic light and sound show, showcasing the life and philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev in Sultanpur Lodhi today.

The show was organised as part of the ongoing celebrations to commemorate the 550th Parkash Purb of Guru Nanak Dev. Member of Parliament (MP) Jasbir Singh Dimpa said these spectacular shows organised by the state government would help to spread the message of the Guru among the young generation.

The audience were given the message of strengthening the ethos of communal harmony, peace, brotherhood, compassion and humanity as preached by Guru Nanak Dev. The audience bathed in Guru Sahib’s glory as the light and sound show beautifully projected his philosophy in the form of his universal message to society. Through the show, the ethos of tolerance, peace, communal harmony, women empowerment and protection of natural resources were brought alive. The first Sikh Master’s efforts to promote social equality were also aptly showcased in the right spirit.

On the occasion, renowned Punjabi singer Harbhajan Mann mesmerised the audience with religious songs dedicated to the Guru.

Meanwhile, the light and sound show will continue to enthral the audience till November 15 while Mann will also perform on Wednesday from 7 to 8 pm.

Bhog of ‘sehaj path’

A bhog of ‘sehaj path’ marked the Gurpurb celebrations at the main pandal in Sultanpur Lodhi on Tuesday. After the culmination of the path, kirtan darbars, organised at the pandal, mesmerised the audience. On the occasion, Bhai Kanwarpal Singh from Dehradun enthralled the devotees with his kirtan in ‘raagbadh’ manner after which Bhai Gurmeet Singh Shant, former Hazuri Raagi of Darbar Sahib Bhai Jaswant Singh and the Jatha of Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib, also performed kirtan.

After the kirtan, renowned Sufi singer Harshdeep Kaur sang her newly released shabad ‘Mere Sahiba’ and other religious songs, leaving the audience spellbound.

Meanwhile, people from various age groups and all walks of life, including renowned sants, nihang organisations and Namdharis, attended the event.
