The Hariana police station has registered a case regarding the murder of a sewadar at the Sant Baba Gurbachan Das Kutia, located near the hills of Atwarapur village, and has named a suspected accused.
According to the police complaint filed by Ashni Kumar, son of Nanak Chand, a resident of Sham Chaurasi under Bullowal police station, the deceased, Jeevan Kumar, had been serving as a sewadar at the Sant Baba Gurbachan Das Ji Kutia for the past 14-15 years. Whenever he visited the kutia, he used to inform Hardeep Kumar alias Deepi.
Ashni Kumar stated that he received information over the phone that his father-in-law, Jeevan Kumar, was not present at the kutia and his room was locked. ?
He then asked Deepi to search for him near the kutia and surrounding forest area, but Jeevan Kumar could not be found. Deepi later informed him that on January 12 at around 5 pm, he had seen Manveer Singh alias Manna, a resident of Shamchurasi near Raipur, who had earlier also been visiting the kutia.
On their instructions, Deepi and another companion broke open the lock of the room where Jeevan Kumar was staying. They found his body lying on the floor in a pool of blood. When Ashni Kumar later reached Atwarapur with his wife, he found that Jeevan Kumar's mobile phone was missing.
The complainant expressed suspicion that Manveer Singh alias Manna had murdered his father-in-law by striking him on the head, allegedly with the intention of robbing him of money.
