Hoshiarpur, August 4
A bloody turn at Mirpur village in Dasuya has left the soldier’s arm severed. The incident was caught on a CCTV camera.
Balwinder Kaur, wife of the injured soldier Harbhajan Singh, said her husband was employed with the Army and was posted in Srinagar. A week ago he came home on leave. In the afternoon, some boys of the village started fighting and beating up my sister-in-law, who is mentally challenged. When my husband tried to save her, the assailants also attacked my husband.
The assailants made a blow with a sword on Harbhajan’s arm due to which his arm had severed. Family members rushed him to the Dasuya Civil Hospital, where the doctors referred him to Hoshiarpur. Balwinder Kaur, wife of the Sepoy, has asked the police to take action against those who attacked her husband. — OC
