Special DGP Deo visits cyber crime station

Special DGP, Community Affairs Division (CAD) and Women Affairs, Punjab, Gurpreet Kaur Deo held a meeting with officers at the Police Lines under Commissionerate Jalandhar. Commissioner of Police Jalandhar Dhanpreet Kaur, along with Joint Police Commissioner Sandeep Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police Manpreet Singh Dhillon and other gazetted officers and senior officials attended the meeting.

During her visit, the Special DGP issued specific instructions for further action regarding the special campaigns being run by the Punjab government at the district level, "War against Drugs" and "Strike against Gangsters." She asked the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar to issue a special operational plan to curb petty crime. She emphasised modernising police checkpoints and prioritising the use of walkie-talkie sets to maintain communication with personnel deployed at checkpoints. She also issued clear instructions to address public complaints effectively, properly maintain relevant documents, and keep station complexes clean and green.

The Special DGP also listened to the issues and challenges faced by officers during their duties. The key issues raised by the officers were discussed, and wherever possible, immediate solutions were provided. One of the primary demands was the provision of computer peripherals to enhance their efficiency and workflow. Recognising the importance of this requirement, the Special DGP approved their request to ensure it is fulfilled.

The Special DGP also visited the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) and the Cyber Crime Police Station. The functioning of the ICCC control centre was reviewed and instructions were issued to the deployed staff to further streamline its operations.

At the Cyber Crime Police Station, applications from a complainant who had fallen victim to online fraud were reviewed, and directions were given to take immediate action on them. On this occasion, officers were also directed to ensure the enforcement of law in their respective areas and to promptly resolve the problems of the public.
