Residents should be alert against rumours and ensure strict compliance with the advisory issued by the government from time to time in the public interest. If any mischievous elements were found spreading rumours, strict action will be taken against them.

Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain said this addressing a meeting to review the civil defence preparedness in the district today. The DC issued guidelines to officers and asked them to be fully alert during any emergency situation.

She said the district administration has set up a 24-hour district-level control room, the number of which was 01882-220412. The residents can contact this control room for any information. She assured the residents that the situation was completely normal and there was no need to panic in any way.

She said the situation was normal. The district administration was continuously coordinating with the Air Force and the Army. She said if anyone finds any suspicious or unknown object in any locality, village or city, then they should not go near it or try to tamper with it but rather inform the nearest police station or civil administration, so that the object can be forensically examined.
