Supporting talent: 100 sports kits distributed

Jalandhar: MLA Pargat Singh distributed sports kits to 100 budding football and hockey players at the sports ground of Samrai village on Sunday. The MLA said as many as 100 sports kits worth Rs2.25 lakh, comprising track suits, footballs, shoes, and hockey sticks, besides other inventories, were distributed at the playground. He categorically said the state government was committed towards providing possible help to young players so that a major push could be given to sports activities in the region. He ensured availability of adequate funds to achieve this goal. He exhorted players to work hard in their game, which would bring laurels to them, their state and the country at national and international arenas. TNS
