Synergy–05 at Rayat Bahra varsity encourages youth to build drug-free society

Rayat Bahra Professional University on Friday organised Synergy–05, an event aimed at promoting awareness among the youth for a drug-free society. Around 2,500 students from various government and private schools of the district enthusiastically participated in the programme. Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain attended the event as the Chief Guest, while renowned film and comedy artist Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi made a special appearance.

University Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra welcomed the dignitaries and said it was the collective responsibility of society to guide the youth on the right path. Addressing the gathering, Ghuggi stressed that drug abuse not only destroys the future of young people but also weakens the foundation of families and society. He urged students to adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards drugs and inspire others to stay away from addiction.

The event featured vibrant cultural performances, along with creative presentations and ideas dedicated to building a drug-free society. Vice-Chancellor Dr Chander Mohan said the primary objective of Synergy–05 was to spread awareness about drug prevention and encourage collective efforts to build a healthier and more responsible society.

Senior director Harinder Jaswal and director Gurpreet Bedi said such events play a vital role in developing positive energy and social responsibility among youth. During the programme, the university management honoured teachers, principals, and students for their outstanding achievements and contributions in their respective fields. Dean Dr Kuldeep Walia concluded the event by extending gratitude to all principals, teachers, and students for their participation.

Among those present on the occasion were Dr Jasdeep Kaur Dhami, Dr Maninder Grover, Dr Meenakshi, Prem Lata, Kuldeep Rana, Dr Gaurav Parashar, Dr Sukhmeet Bedi, Dr Jarnail, along with the entire university staff.
