After getting information Senior Medical Officer (SMO) Dr Lehimber Ram along with Medical Officer Dr Sanjeev Lochan inspected the site. When asked, the SMO said it seemed that some drug addicts had been using and throwing syringes on a vacant plot for the past several years. The SMO said he had informed Phagwara SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti and sought an investigation and action against suspects involved in this regard. The SMO said he had written to higher authorities too in this connection.

It has been observed that neither the municipal corporation nor the police are ready to initiate action against plot holders. — OC
