The ticket was purchased in the name of his son, Maan Singh. His son had been working abroad to support the family and had returned from Dubai last year, with plans to go back again. However, following this unexpected windfall, Gurcharan has asked him to stay home.

“I told him not to go back. We have enough now, and he can start something of his own here,” Singh said.
