In recognition of his outstanding contribution to school education, a Jalandhar-based teacher named Chander Shekhar was honoured with a certificate of appreciation during the launch of Mission Samrath 4.0 at the Chandigarh Municipal Bhawan on Thursday.
The certificate was presented by Punjab’s Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, former Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia, Education Secretary Sonali Giri, Member of the Punjab Development Commission Anurag Kundu and Director SCERT Kiran Sharma.
Chander Shekhar is currently working as an English teacher at School of Eminence (SOE), Ladowali road. He was felicitated for rendering dedicated and commendable services as a State Resource Person (English) with the Punjab Education Department. His work, particularly in developing innovative Teaching Learning Material (TLM) for both students and teachers, has been widely appreciated for enhancing classroom engagement and improving learning outcomes.
Officials at the event highlighted that such contributions play a critical role in strengthening foundational learning and supporting teachers with practical, activity based resources. The initiative under Mission Samrath 4.0 aims to further elevate the quality of education in government schools by focusing on competency-based learning and capacity-building of educators.
The ceremony witnessed participation from educators, academic coordinators and department officials who lauded the efforts of resource persons working at the grassroots level to transform classroom practices.
