The Nakodar police have arrested three persons in two separate cases related to alleged gangster activities and providing shelter to criminals, following intensified enforcement measures against organised crime in the region.

DSP Nakodar Onkar Singh Brar told today that in the first case, registered under Section 246(B) and Section 313 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), registered against Akashdeep Singh alias Ghanti, resident of Village Nurpur Chattha, and Mankirat Singh alias Mani, a resident of Patti Daffar Ki Sarih, both under Nakodar Sadar police station. He stated that the accused were allegedly involved in committing offences in association with gangsters and in providing shelter and assistance to criminal elements. Following registration of the case, both accused were arrested and taken into police custody for further investigation.

DSP Brar said in a separate operation, police arrested Gagan Gill alias Gagan, a resident of Village Malri, in a case registered under Sections 212 and 401 of the Indian Penal Code. The arrest was made during naka-bandi near the Jalandhar–Nakodar bridge after receiving specific intelligence from a confidential source.

The accused was allegedly involved in providing shelter to gangsters and facilitating criminal activities by arranging hideouts for offenders. DSP stated that investigations are ongoing in both cases to identify links with organised crime networks and to ascertain the extent of involvement of the accused.
